Upon landing at Rome Fiumicino airport. Meet your private English speaking driver for a direct transfer to your boutique hotel: Hotel Trevi Collection 4****. We will book: 1 double classic room. Check in at the hotel and the rest of the day is at leisure. We know that elegance and hospitality are the true luxury, so we’ve thought of the “Trevi Collection”. Close to ancient monuments and palaces, this magnificent structure rises at only 200 mt from the famous Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Barberini. The modern and refined style gives character to the living environments, the games of lights and colors give it personality. The rooms design, furniture and carefully selected amenities, will make your stay unforgettable and unique.
Day 2 – Rome: Ancient Rome
After breakfast at your hotel, you can reach the Ancient part of the Eternal city independently (an enjoyable walk or the hotel can call you a taxi if you wish, at your own expense): Colosseum and Roman Forum. There you will be met by your private guide: with direct access to this remarkable landmark and no waiting in long lines, you will be awestruck even before entering by the size of this Roman amphitheater nearly 2000 years old. Once inside, your private guide will bring the ancient world to life, with the various emperors, aristocrats, gladiators and slaves and the wild beasts that once populated this building. You will then be accompanied to the nearby Roman Forum, known as the "heart" of Ancient Rome, and the commercial, political and religious center. After the visit, free time for lunch and the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 3 – Rome: Vatican Museums
After breakfast, reach the Vatican Museums with a taxi (at your own expense) Once there, your specialist guide will introduce you to the masterpieces of such great painters as Raphael, Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. This is one of the greatest art collections ever, a collection gathered through the centuries by the Popes. You will see the wonderful Cortile della Pigna ( " Pinecone Courtyard" ), followed by one of the finest collections of antique Greek and Roman statues in the world. Be enchanted by the stunning vision of the Sistine Chapel and also direct access into Saint Peter's Basilica; a sacred place designed and executed by some of the greatest architects of the XVI century, from Bramante to Michelangelo and from Raphael to Bernini. After this breathtaking visit, you will have the rest of the day at leisure.
After breakfast, please reach Rome Termini Central Railway station. (Taxi is at your own expense) Take the direct fast train to Florence, only 1 hour and 30 minute ride. After your arrival in Florence S. M. Novella train station, if you wish you can get a taxi at your own expense, you will reach your hotel in Florence: Hotel Degli Orafi 4****. We will book: 1 Double Classic Room. Check in and rest of the day is at leisure.
The hotel, once an Augustine Convent from the 13th century, is set between the Uffizi Gallery and Florence's Ponte Vecchio and includes the ruins of an ancient medieval tower. The roof garden with bar offers views of the Cathedral. Breakfast is an American-style buffet and is served daily in a former ballroom, with 19th-century frescoes and views of Arno River and Via dei Georgofili.
Day 5 – Florence: Walking Tour & Accademia Gallery
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be met by your private English speaking guide and get ready for a pleasant walking tour of Florence. You will have the opportunity of getting right up to the Duomo (the Cathedral) with the famous dome done by Brunelleschi, the largest brick dome in the world, stretching protectively over the Cathedral. You will also see its splendid bell tower: the famous Campanile of Giotto. Carry on to the Accademia Gallery Museum where the most symbolic work of Michelangelo is housed: The David, an expression of beauty and physical perfection. The Accademia houses other less famous sculptures by Michelangelo and a collection of Renaissance paintings, including Botticelli. You can admire the plaster cast of “Il Ratto delle Sabine” by Giambologna (The Rape of the Sabine Women- the original is in the main Signoria Square), and discover why Michelangelo never made a plaster cast as opposed to all his contemporaries. End of tour and the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 6 - Florence: Free Day
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will have a day at leisure to explore the city on your own, to go shopping, stroll around the city or just relax.
Day 7 – Florence: Departure
After breakfast and check out from the hotel, you will be met by your private English speaking driver and transfer to Florence airport.
