Upon arrival at Rome Fiumicino Airport, you will be met by your private driver who will chauffer you to your hotel in Rome, Hotel degli Artisti 4****. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
After breakfast you will meet your private English speaking driver and guide and together you will reach the ancient part of Rome . Enjoy a tour of Rome’s most memorable ancient sites. Plunge into the glories of the Eternal City and, layer by layer, discover two millennium of history when Rome was once the Caput Mundi. Specially designed to provide visitors with an unforgettable experience and in-depth understanding of the splendors of Ancient Rome, this tour will lead you to the most significant monuments and sights of this spectacular open-air museum. Your visit begins as you access the Colosseum, Rome’s most stunning landmark and one of Ancient Rome’s most vital social centers. Once inside the amphitheater, you will tread the same ground as the gladiators and ferocious beasts once fought and where the emperors, with a mere gesture of the thumb, decided the fate of slaves and prisoners. Your professional guide will lead you through the ruins and bring to life the dramas that unfolded within these ancient walls for over four centuries. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
After breakfast, meet your private driver and your English-speaking guide at the hotel. Transfer to the Vatican Museums and enjoy a 4-hour tour of the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and the Saint Peter’s Basilica. Once there, with no queues or waiting, your specialist guide will introduce you to the masterpieces of such great painters as Raphael, Michelangelo. This is one of the greatest art collections ever, a collection gathered through the centuries by the Popes. You will see the wonderful Cortile della Pigna ("Pinecone Courtyard"), followed by one of the finest collections of antique Greek and Roman statues in the world, then visit the celebrated Rooms of Raphael over 500 years old. Be enchanted by the stunning vision of the Sistine Chapel and also direct access into Saint Peter's Basilica; a sacred place designed and executed by some of the greatest architects of the XVI century, from Bramante to Michelangelo and from Raphael to Bernini. Day 4 – Transfer to Cortona and Tour of Siena
After Breakfast and check out from your hotel in Rome your driver will take you to Cortona in a luxury car. Check in to Hotel Il Falconiere. Upon arrival at the boutique Hotel Il Falconiere, in the Sienese hills, you will then have a transfer to one of Tuscany’s most Famous towns, Siena. You will discover the Magnificent Piazza del Campo where, twice a year (2 July and 16 August) a very special event, that every citizen of Siena looks forward to, takes place: the Palio di Siena, an incredible bare back horse race. An 800 year old tradition. You will learn about the history of the Contrade (ancient Sienese name for neighborhoods), there are 17 tiny Contrade within this beautiful Medieval town. You will visit the famous Duomo and other monuments belonging to this lovely city. After the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel where you will spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 5 – Transfer from Cortona to Montalcino and Montepulciano and Wine Tasting
After a gourmet breakfast of homemade pastries, jams, cheeses and fresh milk, we will be ready for another splendid day: you will discover Montepulciano and Montalcino. You will be chauffeured in a luxury car to the magnificent Medieval village of Montepulciano and taken to one of the most famous wineries in the region, home to the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano (meticulously produced with 100% Sangiovese grapes: those that the Tuscans define as “the true table wine”). Here, you will be able to taste the wines, including the famous ‘Asinone’, guided by an expert wine maker and accompanied by a variety of delicious local delicacies including local organic cheeses and cold cuts. After this visit, continue to another marvelous village: Montalcino. Here you will enjoy another winery that is the first winery in Italy ,that produces one of the best Brunello di Montalcino wines in the area. Enjoy a visit of the winery, which we hope will leave you with lasting memories of this day and the flavors that have tantalized your palate. Here too, of course you will have another wine tasting including the renowned Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. Transfer back in the afternoon with your private driver to your hotel.
Today you will have a day at leisure to explore Cortona on your own.
Day 7 - Private transfer from Cortona to Perugia
After Breakfast and check out from your hotel in Cortona you will be chauffeured to your hotel Borgo dei Conti in Perugia. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 8 - Transfer from Borgo dei Conti to Assisi
Meet your English-speaking driver in the hotel lobby and transfer to Assisi where you will enjoy a walking tour of the city with your private English speaking guide. Assisi was the birthplace of St. Francis who gave up his worldly possessions and founded the Order of Franciscans in AD 1208. You will see the Roman Forum, an area of historical archeological significance with well-preserved Roman ruins. Then you will walk to the magnificent Basilica of San Francesco, which (since AD 1230) preserves the saint's remains. With its medieval artworks by Giotto and Cimabue, the church is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Free time at leisure for lunch. In the afternoon, together with your guide you will visit Deruta famous for its ceramics. At the end of the tour, transfer back to your hotel in Perugia and free time to treat yourselves to the pool and spa.
Day 9 - Transfer from Perugia to Rome with stops in Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio
After check out and breakfast, you will meet your private English speaking driver for a direct transfer to Orvieto, an old city situated on the flat summit of a large hill of volcanic turf, famous for its Duomo and its strong Etruscan identity, traceable to the nearby necropolis and town museums. Here you will meet your private English speaking guide and together explore the magnificent monuments and buildings for which this incredible city is so famous. Then, make your way towards the nearby Civita di Bagnoregio, a small town of Lombard origins and totally unique. Free time for lunch and some exploring. After enjoying this beautiful town you will transfer to your hotel in Rome. Check-in at Forty Seven Hotel and the rest of the day will be at leisure, to discover the Eternal city.
Breakfast and check out. Meet your private driver at the hotel for a transfer to Fiumicino airport for your flight back home.
